I have loved animals for as long as I can remember. They have moved me to wonder, tears, and ecstatic love many times, without fail. I have shared my life with pet insects, lizards, snakes, hamsters, birds, rabbits, cats, and dogs.
I was drawn to photography as a young teen. That early interest grew into a lifelong adventure, capturing the commonality and truth that is a single photographic moment. My first professional session with dogs was for a calendar of rescue dogs. Hearing the heartbreaking and harrowing stories of those dogs was humbling. Since that calendar, I have been the guardian of five second-hand dogs. They have changed my life forever.
When my beloved dog Olive died suddenly, I realized I had taken too few photos of her. I was heartbroken. I thought she would always be around. Knowing that my clients will always have beautiful memories of their loyal companions is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work. Running, jumping, drooling, and giving you that sideways glance that makes you forget they're another species.
I currently live and work in Los Angeles with my husband Jeff and two furry co-workers, Finn and Jones.
